Explore the Chemistry of Distilled Spirits with a behind-the-scenes look at how your favorite beverages are crafted. Registered attendees will begin the evening with an expert-led distillery tour and guided spirit tasting, where the distillery staff will introduce the chemical and sensory principles behind distillation and flavor development. After the tasting, guests can enjoy one complimentary cocktail (included with $10.00 registration fee) and a taco bar generously provided by the American Chemical Society. As you dine and sip, local Erie-area chemists will share brief, engaging insights into what makes popular cocktails “chemically distinct”—highlighting the molecular features, reactions, and techniques that shape aroma and taste. Come learn, taste, and toast to the chemistry that brings your favorite spirits to life!
